I baught a rebuilt head and everything looks great on it expect for there like 2 small chunks taking out of core in 2 different comperssion chambers. I have know idea what caused it but it looks like it has been ran for ahwhile since it happened. If you cut a BB in half it would probley be about that side expect for its alittle rough. I'm not sure if its okay to use it or not. I'll try to post pics of it up.

Either the dude had a lot of detonation without caring, or he blew the end off a spark plug and it had a free-for-all. I've seen both result in what you're describing.
