well we still need to figure out a date and time...I've been thinking that late July or early August would give everybody plenty of heads up so that we can all make plans to be there. If we do this I want to do it right and have as many people there as possible.
 
that would be kinda cool if we could get all the DSM guys here in Arkansas down for a seasonal meet...just like once every 3 months have a get together at a centralized position so that we can talk DSM talk...trade/sell parts...help out each other with problems...that kinda stuff

(p.s. anybody have a control arm for a 1g? mine got busted up and messed up my axle too so I need a new one before I can get the frame straightened and get my new axle put in too)
 
ok this is kinda off subject but I was wondering if any of you guys were gonna go to the VW Festival in Eureka Springs August 22-24? I've been going for the past few years so I'm gonna be there. Just wondering if anyone else will be.

well it's really awesome...I mean they aren't DSM's but they're VW's their icons of another time and place...I really enjoy seeing them and have a great time up there looking at the cars...lots of really pimp V-Dubs up there...if you get the chance to stop in and check it out on one of the weekends I would go...you'll have fun and at least you'll be around other car people instead of possibly being with in-laws (duh duh dun duh) ROFLROFLROFL
 
Mine will be getting some much needed down-time in the near future, otherwise I'm limited in the distance I can drive. Is there nothing local going on?
 
not around here...if I want to be with fellow DSMers it looks like I have to go 2 hrs to Lil Rock or 2 hrs to Mtn Home....either way I kinda think it's worth it, but also hate how few of us around here want to actually get something together.

i agree its worth it to be with people who share a passion in dsm's!
 
yeah I hate being the only one in my area. I've been working on my friends VW Rabbit Diesel Vege-Oil Conversion Remote-Turbo that were hoping to finish by August next year. But I'm starting to think about trading off or selling my Laser and getting into a VDub. Hate to say it but if I can't get any help for my Laser around here I'll be better off in a VW. :(
 
Ok then how about sometime this month or the next on a Saturday. Any place will work for me, just as long as we get as many people as we can. I know I might be able to get at least 3 dsms from down here to go.
 
Dead Thread...so anyways I got my new ACT 2100 clutch kit from SBR and I have nobody to help me install it...anyone up for coming up here to Pocahontas to help me install it? It's gonna be my first clutch install so I'm completely lost as far as what to do and what not to do. I'm only 17 but I'm SURE if you guys want some beers :p or anything like that for the trouble and the trip up here that my dad can help out because it's a lot cheaper than paying a shop to do it LOL. Thanks, Chris.

Lol thanks anyways dude. It actually went great considering I did it by myself in my backyard in the rain and mud with my yellow lab being my assistant :hellyeah: I actually did train her to hand me my ratchets so all in all the install went good and I'm about 300x smarter about my car now ROFL So has anybody gotten any farther on maybe having a meet somewhere this summer? My car is back and perfectly stock (save for the ACT 2100) and I'm ready to see some inspiration guys before I move on with any upgrades. :thumb:
 
What's up guys brian here from Russellville.. This is my first dsm I'm been a proud mustang guy since I was 16. I've had seven mustangs and after my recent 97 cobra blew up on me I needed something that got good gas and was fun to. I also wanted a turbo eclipse!! I got a 96 eclipse with a rebuilt 420a that was built for a turbo so it has lower compression.. I don't know jack about this cars so be gentle.. LOL I'll post some pics soon. When's the meetup..???
 
Are there any DSM's still alive as of 6-19-2009 in Arkansas. i have NEVER seen another 2g GSX beside me in Little Rock area or at the street races at luby parking lot on fridays and saturdays nights. we need a Dsm presence or a crew down here. if anyone is out there pm me. also needing an info to where i can get 6bolt block and heads. need to get rid of 4bolt rear and maf translator if anyone is interested. Pm me. looking to see some DSM action in the future. wake up people.
 
I am new to the scene, just tryin to learn as much as I can about both the cars and the area. I live out in Cabot but I am military and work at the Air base. If there is anyone in my area hit me up.
