Thanks man, you've been the most cool person so far. How do I get "in" with road race? Could you introduce me? I am after all, so much of a DSM nut that I started a thread to find DSM clubs and other DSMers a month before I even moved to CA. SoCaliEclipse, do you have AOL or AIM? If so, what's your S/N, I'll hit you up some time.

Yeah dude, I could introduce you. The thing with them is that they want to see for themselves that you're a DSM head and whatnot...the way to build a good rep with them is to start spending money....ask knowledgeable and intelligent questions and just go down there and chill. The big guy up front, Rob, doesn't always give the best first impression, just so you know, but give him time and he's chill. Basically, they get so many ricers emailing them and coming in asking for blow off valves and loud exhaust that they are sceptical of new people until they see their passion and goals for their DSM. When you go down there, you'll notice that there is NO display case, no shiny N1 mufflers sitting upfront...its a small office area with turbos laying on the ground next to pistons and gears and everything else is a large garage and wharehouse. That is the type of shop I'm talking about !!!!!! no show.....just business and DSM's

Also, if you need prices on other stuff, I can get you those as well. Many times I can beat their prices and for those times that I can't I'll just be honest and tell you to go straight through them. Yeah I have AIM...my SN is "SoCaliEclipse" same as on here...it should be in my profile...anywhoo

Well actually I'm afraid that I might be getting symptoms of crankwalk, namely the little clicking sounds from the engine bay. I changed the thrust bearing out once already to try to buy me some time. However, since I don't have the money for a 6-bolt swap, I researched it very carefully and was wondering if you could find out a few things for me. I emailed RRE and they said the dont work on 7 bolts, and could only do the 6 bolt swap for me, maybe you could help me out with this. Someone from the RRE crankwalk forum did a few things and never walked again. I figured I'd follow in his footsteps and hopes this buys me some time, at least until I get enough to do a 6bolt swap.
I need of course a new crankshaft for my specific engine block (from the engine codes under the block), new rod bearings, a revised design center thrust bearing (this is the bearing that fails, allowing the crank to walk), a new trigger plate for the crank sensor, a new crank sensor, and new timing belt items that need replacing, since we'll be in there anyway. If you could give me the price for everything I need, as well as labor, it would really help. Also (sorry, I have a lot of questions) if they can weld aluminum, that'd be awesome, since I have 3 sidemounts that I wanted to weld together and have some endtanks fabricated a la dejontool.com. The only person I have found is far from here (illinois or something) and wants me to ship my sidemounts to him, which he'll weld together into a frontmount for $250. Looking for a better deal of possible. Thanks.

They are THE BEST out here for DSM's no quesions asked.

I don't really have a "labor hook up" aside from at Road Race, so you would need to just talk to them about that. I haven't heard of anything about that solution for C-walk but then again, I haven't done much research into preventing it as much as i have just what causes it and whatnot. Since I have a 98 and 132k miles, I'm not too worried

Also, as of right now I need some help from you guys. Anyone here know where I can get a front bumper (aftermarket, or OEM) for the 97-99 Eclipse? I need one ASAP, if anyone knows where I can get one right away or knows anyone who's selling one. I'd prefer that if it's aftermarket that it looks close to stock, or at least is tasteful, not a blitz or something. Any info would be greatly appreciated because I'm in such a rush. A lot of shops here need to "order" the bumper and it would take a while.

"WTB:2G front end...stock or aftermarket" and you'll probably get some good replies and since everyone is local you can pick it up instead of paying/waiting for shipping....you can also go to the classifieds on tuners and post the same thing. good luck

i'm in socal, anaheim california, i had a 95 blue rs with a 99 front end conversion, red rear bumper , but now i have a 97 gst, silver...i'm so down for a socal meet, the last one i went to only 3 guys showed up and that was held in palm springs, i drove 1 1/2 hours to get there to see 2 dsmers...ARGHHH!!! anyway, i'd love to get a meet going in socal real soon and i hope more than 3 of us go...

Get involved with SocalDSM dude. www.socal.dsm.org . You'll not only learn a whole lot, but you'll also hear about meets and whatnot. We usually do something once a month or so. Sometimes we go for a BBQ, others we head down to Dromo1 or other times we will take the cars to Fontucky. At any rate, you'll hear about meets there too. I am in Costa Mesa which is pretty close to Anaheim. I am off the 55 and 405 Fwys. Where abouts are you in Anaheim?

Maybe we can do a small meetup soon before we do our big shindig whenever

I'm hoping to hold off this "meet" until maybe the end of february or mid march, just to make sure it's not just 5-6 people showing up. Is everyone cool with that? Everyone bring your camcorders too, let's make the meet somewhere where it's nice and empty, like an abandoned business complex or something so that we can um.....test..... our cars...yeah....
