I'm going to rebuild my '92 Talon TSi's clutch master cylinder with the Mitsu rebuild kit I bought a while back, and was wondering if there's any advantage to using DOT 5.1 over DOT 3. I have some extra Motul 5.1 left over from a brake bleed I just did that I wouldn't otherwise be using and it'll go bad eventually if I keep it in the bottle. I'm sure that DOT 3 would be just fine, just wondering if there's any advantage (or disadvantage) or if it's all the same with a clutch.

No particular advantage or disadvantage for general use/daily driver scenario. You're not going to boil dot 3 just bootin around town
Thanks. So I'll probably use the rest on the brakes. I bled them yesterday but still need to flush out all the old fluid as it's been a few years. I'll put DOT 3 in the clutch MC, which I have for our other cars, definitely not performance ones (Camry & Rio).

5.1 is fine its 5 that's a problem due to seals and such
