Another trans problem/question for the board

every car i've ever had/driven/ridden in that was a manual whined when using reverse. it's because it's a straight cut gear or something, but that's normal. other than that, i think that the whining while decelerating is normal, but i am probably wrong, as i am stupid about transmission noises
 
hehe yeah me too.

Yeah the reverse noise doesn't bother me becase, like you said, most manuel cars do that. But I get a milder noise similar to it in the forward gears. Especially when down shifting. After the clutch engages fully, the sound is choppy then constant, kinda like -- ----- ------ ------------------------- when decelerating. I think I might just be worrying too much seeing as how my clutch is taking a dump right now also. Who knows, maybe it's just my clutch and it'll all be better next week.
