So Im driving along and suddenly just tryin to keep pace car has no power while giving it throttle. I pump the gas and it will sputter and backfire then take off. Limped it home, check all the plugs and wires (all new and were all secure). Can't rule out boost leak but the car ran fine before this except for cutting out in boost at 5k or so, but always drove fine around town. Check wires to coil they are all tight, any connectors I could think of and check and made sure they were still on. The thing I found on is it would do with if I let off the throttle, it I kept my foot in it a bit it will chug along fine, but right when I let off it wont rev or anything unless I hold it at half throttle and it will sputter and take off again. Fuel pressure is still good. Went out a mintue ago and started it again and idles/rev fine except for the typical idle surge. Any ideas? Also its a 92 ES with 6 bolt swap stock injectors stock turbo ecu. ONLY code its throwing is 31 for knock sensor.

There's your sign right there. Replace the knock sensor and try it again. If it still does it, let me know becuause there is soooo much more to check if replacing that sensor doesn't fix it. In case if you're wondering, the sensore is on the back of the block and is octagon shape with a wire running up to your wiring harness.

that is a brand new knock sensor, replaced it yesterday, disconnected the battery, still throwing the code

Did you buy it new or used? If it's brand new from the store, it could be bad. It rarely happens but it happens. Go ahead and take it back and have them replace it and if it's still bringing up the code, it could be a bad connection somewhere. Check your harnesses and wiring for the knock sensor.

you really think all this was knock sensor related, I mean the car drove almost 250 miles with no knock sensor and never did this. Im going to check it anyway just to see if thats why its still throwing the code, and yea brand new nice and shiny

Drove it around this morning and its back to it's cutting out under boost ONLY self LOL

Well its only thing I havent done, guess Ill get back to you guys. Most than likely the culprit.

Has brand new O2 sensor as well, was busy this weekend but tomorrow I should be able to do a BLT
