why does it look like Im knocking alot at 4312? Because timing is down to 7*? I did the pulls in 3rd gear at WOT. I wasnt down at 2500 rpm though. I'll do some more runs in the next couple days.....anyone else see anything obvious wrong? Im still trying to understand and research tuning using the logger/afc combo. I know DSMLink is the best, but i cant afford it yet.

Please tell me you are not on stock injectors???????? Your AFC should be at zero! You are running super lean, that's why you are knocking. Set your AFC to zero across the board and re-log. Don't drive AT ALL with it set like this.

I am on stock injectors. If I am running so lean, why is my o2 reading ok? I'll move them to zero and do another log. The problem with that is, I usually hit fuel cut when the settings are at or close to zero. Its been that way since I put the FMIC on.....

You CANNOT rely on narrowband o2 readings for anything related to AF ratios. A wideband is the only way to see if you are actually running lean or rich.

It would make sense that you hit fuel cut more often if you turn the AFC back up. But choose what you want, the ECU reading too much air and cutting off the fuel, or your AFC lying to the ECU and telling it there is less air than there really is, then your timing gets bumped up and up and kablooey, bye bye motor.

Check for boost leaks as well. They can make a mess of getting a tune straightened out.

When tuning with a logger you cannot rely on narrowband 02's. You use them as a guideline and watch for a drastic change. You are tuning for timing. Ideally you want your timing to dip to 6-8 degree's as full boost hits, then it should climp a steady line WITH NO DIPS until redline!

1 degree of timing retard is 10 counts of knock.

For reference, the 2G ECU holds timing at 7 counts and retards 1 degree of timing for every 3 degrees over that (i.e. 10,13,16, etc)
