Another Lifter Thread (But a good question)

I read all of this talk about the 3G lifters. What motor are we talking about? is it the 2.4l in the eclipse? or the 3.0l? Im assuming the lifters are from the 2.4 but i want to be sure before I go out and spend like 150 bux on them.

3g meaning the second bodystyle 2g's. I believe these were from 97-99. I have the 3g lifters and they rock.

3g lifters are worth the money if u can afford to spend it and if u cant stand the famous "tick" from the original ones. Having other issues w/ my motor but it runs strong, solid and, quiet as in no damn lifter ticking. The oil passage in them is like 4 or 5 times the size of the old ones. Just to be safe you can just order lifters for a 99 and im sure youll get what u want.

I'm not positive as to whether it's the 4cyl or 6, but my dad's got a 3L V6 3g and we've looked at part numbers before and I know they're the same as the 'revised' ones for our cars. My guess would be that they're even the same lifters in both motors (meaning the 2.4L also,,hell probably all mitsu motors). Don't hold me to that, but the 3L ones are the same as the ones you want.

Ok why doesn't anybody just tell me what car they are for. I can order them through the dealer. I get wholesale cost , i gots a shop. So far what I got was they are for a 99 GST/X?
Please correct me if im wrong

Yes, 99 GST/X lifters will be the right ones. Just for kicks, have them look up the part number for those, and the part number for the lifters out of the 3g eclipses (both motors). Like I said, Im almost positive the 3L ones are the same ones, and I would be willing to bet the 2.4L ones are too.

I'm willing to bet that these lash adjusters are the same across many of the mitsu motors, such as the 3.0L 6G72 (3000GT), etc.

what ever happened to the guy, I think he was from texas or something, that could get the updated lifters for relatively cheap? I cant remember where I heard of him. they might be cheaper then even your dealership price. I think that the link to the guy was on dsmtalk, unfortunately

Yes, I know it was at least stickied on DSMtalk You're right, he was outta Dallas. But if I remember correctly he stopped getting them and just had a link to another place that had them (for just barely more than he had them) on his site...*checking to see if its in my fav's*...dang it isn't...anyone else still have that info? His were like 8 bucks each or something around there I think

oh for ####s sake, you have a 4g63...get lifters for a 4g63, its not rocket science... 1g, 2g, evo...do the math. if you want lifters, thats what they make now..... again for the 4G63

According to CAPS the new lifter part number is MD377054 and is used in the C63A D22A D27A D32A D33A D38A E39A E56A F16A V45W Z11A Z15A Z16A under various original part numbers but with this new repalcement part number. Just about everything with a DOHC head including the EVO.
