Ok, firstly I did do a search and was not able to find my exact answer. I apologize in advance if I missed the answer. Anyways, just got my car running and know the tune is way off, but to do anything about it I need to learn more about these fuel trims.
First, the car in question is a 92 TSI, 16G, fmic, 3" GMAF with translator, 780cc injectors, 3" turbo back exhaust. For logger data, I have the MMCD and Palm n Stein software. When reading my fuel trims, the MMCD software reads as follows:
L = 117 %
M= 82.8%
H= 100%
Now when read using the Palm n Stein software I get this:
L= 196
M= 132
H= 162
I am aware that on the 1st gen cars 100% is where the ecu is not having to add or subtract any fuel from the maps and you want to be within + or - 10%. But I am confused when I read the Palm n Stein numbers are 196 132 and 162? My guess is the Palm n Stein software centers at 150, but I am sure I am wrong.
Now with all that said, am I correct in thinking that say 120% would be the ecu adding 20% fuel to compensate for a lean condition, where as 80% would be subtracting 20% for a rich condition?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long list, but I want to try to give as much info as possible. Thanks again.
