somewhere happenning,
hey guys
i did read a lot about fmic kit, and some of u guys decided to try them, some preferes not to but out of the one that tried them, they seem happy about it
So it looks like there s one IC to avoid it s the one that has a lot of presure drop
then there s the other ones
and then the really good ones (spearco, greddy etc)

So this ones claims to drop only 0.2 psi at 15 psi
and it s 160$ for the WHOLE kit with pipings and couplers
i know it s apretty crazy price....
so yea i guess there s gonna be a bit of cutting and welding to do but can it really be that bad??
i just wanna know your opinions and if someone ever bought THAT ONE or dealed with that seller AUTOSQUARE
thanx a lot guys

btw i consoder it because iwill use it for my b16g and i guess, even if it s not as good a s a spearco one, i guess it will flow enough to have some cold air

With an ic, I personally would not trust ebay. But there have been many people who were satisfied with their ebay ic's. Personally I have never seen this one that you are looking at, but it seems a little small. I wouldn't use it for over 20 psi, so decide how much you are planning to flow by the end of your project. Better to go a little bigger than smaller. Also like anyone will tell you, "you get what you pay for".

It says it's only rated to 400hp. If you want this or less, by all means, get it if you want it. But if you have bigger and better plans, just save your money and get a well-known one right off the bat. Spend money once!

Not to start a argument here but not all ebay companies are bad. Extreme Intercoolers sells on ebay and they are a well trusted company for making high quality intercoolers.

well i plan on using it with my big16g and 660s so i guess i ll boost somethin like 20 psi
that s my goal
and on race days i was hoping using race gas and more boost (+/-25psi)
And i was thinkin that for that price, it s good enough just for the piping...(i mean some shops sells their uicp only for more than that) so if i want bigger i guess i ll just change the core....

My goal is around 350hp i guess....
i don t know if this make sense but in E.T my goal s somethin like low12 on pump gas and mid or low 11 on race gas

and yea i read that huge thread about those Ebay kits and that helped me a lot to decide, i mean people have a lot more troubles with pipings and fittings than the IC itself
IT looks pretty obvious to me now that there s like 4-5 big manufacturers and u just have to choose the right one

I bought an intercooler and almost same (not black) piping kit off ebay and just not together. How I mounted the intercooler I had to cut the bumper cover about an inch on the ends. I cut and welded a couple of pipes on the passenger side. I am currently waiting on the aluminum BOV adapter so I can weld that on to the Upper pipe. I did alot of reading too and my thoughts are its better than the stock SMIC, and alot cheaper all that I have to do is make it fit. I will try to get pics of what I did to help if wanted. I looked at the group by but didnt want to cut the front support.

My personal Opinion is that its a little bit on the small side. I'd stick with the stock IC or go with something bigger. For an extra $70 I have seen bigger, better IC's on Ebay. Hope you find something good. Good luck.

thank you
pictures will be very appreciated, also if u have a link of the kit that u bought, that would be very interesting too, or i guess just the name of the seller
So maybe with this thread and more people we could all know which one to get and which one not to....
1g especially

First let me state I have 2g not 1g just so no one gets confused.

I bought my Core from xo2racing and the piping from bestcarpart. I saw the one you bought but said 30 psi max. Not that i am going to run that but as a saftey margin xo's said tested to 80psi (was it really? i dont know). Plus I didn't want the black piping because that would get ruined or look tacky when I welded it. I guess i could of just painted it. I have the same angles though and couplers.

I also bought a J-pipe from ExtremePSI to route the turbo outlet the to drivers side and had to trim the stock fan shroud just a little so that would fit.

Ok and do u think it s still efficient so far???
is the piping still cold after a couple of runs??

actually i haven t bought my kit so far and i might as well do just like you did,
but more opinions will be highly appreciated

Here are the pics that I have. I have not driven it yet because I am waiting on an aluminum BOV adapter so I can weld it on the upper TB pipe. I know the core is smaller but I didn't want to cut the bumper support so I got what would fit the best. I hope some creative placement of after market fog lamps will help with the ends, maybe. One nice thing is I didn't have to move the coolant reservoir. I have a little bit more to cut on the bumper cover on the ends.

I bought one of those ssautochrome 2g kits and so far so good.If you only have a 350hp goal then go for it.I doubt you will see low 11s on a big16g.An evo316g can get you into the high 11s like shapegsx car.But a regualr big16g probably not.
