Hey everyone...well im trying to replace my cv joint (driver side) and im running into a problem....when im installnig the cv joint and everything is back together, the shaft is too short. Its just short enough to allow all my ATF to pour out of the casing. Now i went through two cv joints already and AutoZone said it was the right cv joint for my car. Now is it something im doing wrong? I mean i placed one end into the transmission and pushed it in until it stoped of course and i slipped the other end into the hub and when i tighted it down, the shaft ended up pulling itself out of the transmission as i tightened up the nut on the hub side of the cv joint. I was wondering also is the AWD a different length then the FWD joints? not sure what to do here

I don't know about GST but on the GSX there 2 bolt holes directly below the intake manifold that the bracket on the haft from the transmisshion to the CV joint secures to. Once the bolts are tightened down, the shaft can't pull out of the transmission. On the passanger side there is a ring for that shaft that goes 1/2 way up the teeth that insert into the transmission. Maybe you are missing the ring on yours. Post a pic of your 1/2 shaft and the ends.

Well i cant, see i used my old cv joint for the core charge for the new shaft. I went through two new ones (one i actually installed and one i just matched up and it was still the same one they ordered me the first time around.) and both had the clip on the end that inserts into the transmission.
