Another 2g 6 bolt swap thread

Getting a complete 6 bolt motor from oil pan up. Now with my 2g, what do I need for bolting up to my automatic transmission? I know I had a plate thing attached to my flywheel but it was a 7 bolt. Can I just get another one of those but 6 bolt and a 6 bolt flywheel? Would it bolt right up to my torqe converter

OH and will the 2g ECU and wire harness be ok to still use?

The ecu is fine. Only thing you'll have to do is wire in the 1g cam angle sensor. The 7bolts have a separate crank and cam sensor. The 6bolt does not have a crank sensor so the 1g cam angle sensor simulates both signals to the ecu. Its the thing that makes this whole swap possible. I'm not sure about the flexplate though. Someone will chime in I'm sure.

Im getting the 6 bolt block, and head, and intake manifold. Do I still need to do wiring?

yes you will have to make or buy a wiring harness for the CAS to crank and cam sensors.

simple short answer : No

you will need the kiggy kit, unless your a master at fabing up the 6bolt 3 fin plate to the 4 fin 7bolt Tq.

ok I know someone already posted this but im gonna go ahead im sorry im new to the forum I dont know how it works yet but I blew 7 bolt with auto tranny I need to rebuild tranny and want a 6 bolt block what all do I got to do to make this swap possible I want away from the 7 bolt in my opinion its garbage but still got love for it anyone help me out please im doing this swap by myself my friend backed out on me so im flyin solo right now anything can be helpful but would like experienced help with this I need all mods I would have to do thank you oh and I would really like to keep my 2nd gen head hows the compression and air/fuel mixture going to be do I got to do sumtin to that also???

You will need the Kiggly 6 bolt 2g install kit for your automatic like i do. Its fricken $320 for a flex plate which is crazy stupid, but needed. Got to pay to play

Glad you figured out that issue but yes you still have to do the wiring. It's going in a 2g car so it has to work with your 2g wiring harness. 1g head makes no difference at all.

the kiggly flex plate is only $110 plus shipping. i don't get what their other kit is that costs $320 or why just a flex plate would ruin a trans.

I was looking at the kiggly kit yeah I think I have to get another 7 bolt for the time being I just dont have that kind of money right now but theres the flex plate and the kit for $320 but does anyone know if the plate comes with the kit I didnt see a pic of it so I dont know and someone said u have to change the wiring isnt that what the kit is for to change the cam positioning sensor or what ever it was sorry for the constant replies I just want to find out substituted my cigarette addiction with my car so now I have to get my dosages of my car and it doesnt run so I need to know all this stuff
