Since Amsoil looks to be offering some different products for our frail 2g transmissions, I thought I would give one a shot. Which do you think I should try? (please vote, but also reply with some reasoning behind it.)

And, no- there is no Penn/BG Synchromesh option. ;)

Sorry, I voted for the wrong one:D , dont use the synchromesh, its 5w-30 its too light, you need the Synthetic Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 API GL-4, GL-4 is the right one for the DSM tranny, the 1st one, I figured synchromesh was like the pennzoil synchromesh, but its not, different weights, use the first one, trust me, DO NOT use the 5w-30.

Yes go for the 75W-90. Amsoil is probably one of the top 3 oils on the market right now. I would only use them Mobil 1 or Castrol on any of my cars. Glad to see them come out with some transmission fluids.

AMSoil, Mobil 1, Royal purple, castrol doesnt really make a true synthetic, theres a thread on it somewhere, how Mobil 1 sued castrol and blew them out of the water when it comes to full synthetic.

Yeah, I noticed the light weight- but figured I'd get some suggestions.

I am leaning towards #1. Though, I have read that some have had good luck with #3.

Well, I ended up going with #1, the Amsoil Synthetic Manual Transmission and
Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 API GL-4. Great stuff. Shifting is much much smoother now, and feels like a brand new car. I give it an A.
