Just jacked up the 95 TSi I just bought and I think something is missing. Isn't there supposed to be a splash guard under the entire engine bay? I'm pretty sure there is one under the engine bay on my 1G N/T, I know there was one atleast covering the transmission.

Thanks

?? I don't have a splash guard under my engine..

The only splash guards I have (I guess you could call them splash guards) are on the outside (going horizontal relative to looking from the front of the car) behind the fenders running parallel vertically. They sort of curve inwards, and protect me from...splash?:)

How about you take a picture of it. my car is 100% stock so i can look for you. (at least till i get all my upgrades in :)

from the factory i believe almost every car has them if your talking about the black rubber pieces that connect from the bottom of the cooling fan/radiator houseings, that make it where if you look down into the engine by from the hood you cant see the ground.... I think those are there to prevent water from splashing up into the engine bay because the factory likes to play it safe. I dont have them on my car, Ialways take off any extra plastic pieces of b.s., i mean if your running your intake down in that area get one on there because water will splash up high enough to hit your transmission and maybe even your turbo if you splashed hard enough, but i dont think it would hurt anything unless you were swimming. LOL So its no big deal really, after a while they just hit something and hang down and scrape on the ground and look trashy anyways....

no splash guard under my 99gsx, just as posted before, sides and radiator(more of a duct than a splash guard).:dsm:

well there not that long, they extend to about the middle of the transmission, and one on the other side goes under the oil pan, none in the middle where the exhaust is of course. A lot of cars dont have them, people normally chuck them within 9000 miles because they end up falling down and looking crappy and looking more like your dragging something under your car.
