Am i experiencing fuel cut?

On my 1997 eclipse gst spyder, i have a 14b turbo, MBC, injen intake,3" turbo back thats a cat delete. Everything else is stock. After i installed my 3" turbo back and go WOT especially in 5th gear where it likes to sputter the most and sound like back fire at around 3k rpm. Today i was driving on the highway and tried to go WOT in 5th gear it would just sputter at 3k rpm and not go any higher and then the CEL came on. Im not sure exactly if this is what's called fuel cut or what but im running around 14psi of boost. Would it be unhealthy for my motor if i were to continue driving it?

If your on stock injectors you shouldn't be fuel cutting at 14psi! And hitting fuel cut is like hitting a brick wall all the sudden, the motor will stop suddenly and kinda violently! If that isn't how it feels than sounds like a leak of some sort be it exhaust or boost! Or you need new plugs or a tune! Also get your car scanned to figure out why the cell came on it may help you figure out where to look for your problem.

Do a boost leak test. Same thing happened to me yearssss ago. Also im assuming you have gaskets between all your exhaust mating points?

Sounds like a boost leak or a small ignition issue. Question is, why are you trying to do WOT pulls in 5th gear?

Yes i do and ill do a blt tonight.

yeah its weird because it wasn't doing it until right after i installed the exhaust. I read a few threads that said a 3" turbo back and other mods on stock fuel and such can cause fuel cuts since the 3" turbo back frees up air flow so much and extra air flow from a K&N Filter + Injen intake.

Do you get any boost creep? Fuel cut is pretty obvious and that doesn't sound like fuel cut to me. I know the first time i ever experienced it it scared the **** out of me . It is like just hitting a wall.

nope surprisingly no boost creep

Found out my stock 2g bov wasnt full slipped into the uicp so i put it back in and the cel turned off gonna see if it stops sputtering...
