Alternator swap

I have a 97 talon non turbo and i have a 220amp alt out of a 94 jeep cherokee. The alts have the same mounting but i know the talons alt is internally regulated and the the jeeps alt is externally regulated can i rig this up to work??? I use my talon for bass competitions i have four 12s on 3000rms and im @149.2dbs with a stock alt so far but hope to get LOUDer here soon! Thanks for your time.

How was it regulated from the jeep, computer? , you might be able to buy a ford external alternator regulator but wiring might be a mess.

yea im pretty sure the jeeps computer controlled it

The 2g non-turbo (Chysler engine) is computer (PCM) regulated. The turbo models have internally regulated alts.

So do you think my talons PCM will work with this alt out of the jeep? i know i have to cut the plug off and hard wire it

Possibly, I don't know. I would talk to the mechanics at Jeep and explain you're willing to change the harness wiring to match Jeeps alt.
Doug99RS is a wiseman with a NT who also may be worth asking.
Also look at the Jeeps alt wiring diagrams.
