alternator swap not working

So i decided to do a saturan alternator swap today and it seems to not be working. I wired everything correctly but once i hook up the 2 brown wires from the car to the stud on the alternator the battery drains. There is a consent flow off volts coming from the brown wires. Is that rite or am i shorting somewhere.

This is on a 1998 2g talon
