starter not working after 91 to 90 swap

My starter wont engage on my tsi, and i was wondering it had anything to do with the swap i just made. i took a 91 wrecked tsi and rebuilt the motor and put it in 90 body. i put the 91 engine harness in it with the motor and swaped the 2 plugs that were different and pluged everything in but my starter does not engage at all and i dont no if my cruse control if going to work right..... need some help lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did you make sure you hooked up the ground for the starter

ya i think it has something to do with the clutch switch ? i dont no there has been SOOO much different on the two car it is hard to tell

ya 90 is a pain in the ass since there is lot of different stuff from 91 and up.
