alternator relocation, wire tuck, power steeing questions

Everyone that has done a alternator relocation how are you dealing with the wires. Do you just cut and extend them???
Also for people that have looped their power steering how are you guys doing that??
Wire tuck question...There is a wire that goes to the brake fluid I think. Can I leave that dissconnected or does is absolutely need to be plugged in??

Regarding the alternator I used the wires off my spare car to solder & extend the connections. The key is to match or use a larger gauge wire.
