2G Alternator keeps going bad

Okay i ran into another problem with my 95 tsi. A while ago i was trying to turn the car on and noticed the battery was discharged. I tried jumper cabling it while i was talking on the phone and then... Yes it happened i put them backwards i wasnt paying attention long story short: the door opened sound doesnt beep anymore, the elecric windows and locks dont work unless the car is on, noticed the alternator went bad after a day. So i got a new battery and alternator and it worked at the biggining then next thing i know the battery is dead and the alt. Isnt charging it and changend the alt. Again and same thing happened i'm intalling everything right and the belt doesnt squeal or its too tight so idk what can be wrong any ideas?

sounds like a shorted wire some where, possibly from you mishap with the cables. had a 2014 versa sent to my shop for no start condition after the same thing, was a shot ground wire on the frame. melted the wire right at the frame ground connection.

I would definitely try changing your grounds as a process of elimation and because they could have been damaged. I also work at a shop and had it happen to a customer and the wire from the alt to the alt fuse would carry voltage but it couldn't handle the amperage so it kept wiping out voltage regulators in the alternators. You could try to ohm it out. Just what I have seen once I hope it helps! ,Alex

Check to see if you have a parasitic draw as well. You might not have necessarily have a charging problem but a draining problem. The grounding is definitely a good place to start.

more times then not, loose ground wires are involved. Good luck!

Any luck yet? Check the connections to the alternator and trace them back

Forgot to post back. I thought i checked all the fuses but turns it was the alt. Choke fuse. Thanks guys!

My car is having a proplem i just check it and its charging low.. and its a new alternator idk but my car its having some trouble starting, everything was fine at first then the proplem came in.. when i put the key in the egnition i go to starter and it wont start. but when i put the key in and turn it to the start position it will start.. but i neet to check the cables from the alternator and the alt choke fuse..

For reference sake I work at an autoparts store and I had to use 3 different alternators before I got a good one

I had a serious electrical draw on my system that turned out to be a bad alternator sucking voltage from the battery
