Wait wait wait... you're running 1000cc injectors and tuning with just a MAFT? I hope it's just that you're profile isn't updated. Do you have some sort of ECU injector compensation? what is your timing like? peak timing?

Eh, who cares really. The original poster doesn't even respond anymore.

Yea I'm running the 1000's using the maft base injector setting for injector compensation. And then tuning with an safc. I dont know what my timing looks like yet cause my laptop just took a sh1t and my logger cable just got here yesterday speak of the devil. So I will get some numbers posted soon. As I said though I'm using a zt-2/wideband to tune so maintaining a 11.2-5 really isnt difficult, and if I was pulling timing like a mofo then I'm pretty sure I'd be able to feel it, or see some kind of ill effect in my egt.

i love getting instant emails on my blackberry when someone replies to my posts LOL :tease:

anyway, good to hear you're on the right track to getting your car running better. I'd like to give you a little insight also, of course you can debate with me if you'd like.

when you run a MAFT/SAFC combo, you are doing nothing more than running a MAFT or an SAFC alone. both are piggy back units and both "trick" the ECU with percentage compensation. This will still give you adverse effects regarding timing advance, jumpy tuning, etc.

also, I've had my car running in good condition peaking 19* timing at 7k rpms, and that same day I did some adjustments and managed to ruin my tune to something like 12* peak timing (with a shitty curve to add). I did a pull without the logger at 20psi and the car did not feel significantly slower than with a good tune, but when I whipped out my logger, then i realized that i was losing substantial power. Basically my point is, although your car may feel fast, it may not be as fast as it can be

So are you saying a logger is verny necessary? If so, you should provide some links to what is needed, keeping in mind price, ease of use and reliability.

Or people could just get off their butts and actually look or do some research, I know it's a far out concept...but come on. Go to www.pocketlogger.com . That should at least get you started and tell you what all you need.
or if people could have just supplied the link as you did without the rude comment. If some guys do not know what to look for or do not know what is needes specificaly, then it may be easier for someone with this knowledge to help them along the way.

Where do you download palm'n'stein from, if you don't mine me asking...

Redrex2-I think the reason he had a problem with what you said was the way you said it. If you had said "please tell me a link to a good datalogger because I don't know of one, please give me you opinion of price...etc" it might have been taken a bit better. Instead you said "you should tell me" and basically demanded he go out of his way to tell you something you wouldn't search for yourself...it was rude, he responded rudely. I am surprised he actually told you.

Honestly I hated my palm datalogger, I never could get the thing to stop forgetting everything when the battery would die. I just use my laptop instead, but I never have liked palms much.

http://students.db.erau.edu/~szabafab/stein/download.htm -took 20 seconds with yahoo....type in what you want to find and then it gives you some links....search through them and then you can find what you want. I'm not trying to be a dick, but really its not that hard.

Do a search on palm'n'stein or tunerstein. If anyone is wondering, you will need a different serial cable and software to run a logger on your laptop. It has a different male end on the palm vs. the laptop.

It's exactly as zephyr said. Many of us have been on here a long time. We have seen & dealt with this situation way too many time and quite frankly are growing a little sick of it. I'm one of the people that don't like asking newbie questions, because I'm one that would rather look for it myself rather than making myself look bad by showing that I won't even try.

Search structure should go like this: State what you are looking for. Find the keyword in that sentence. In this case palm'n'stein. Go to google or your brand of search engine. Type in keyword. Reap the benefits of the vast world of knowledge. It's that simple. Or if you wanted more info on where to find loggers in general. We have this thing called a "Parts Catalog". Has several options in which to choose from. I'm not trying to be rude, but at this point in the game I'm not trying to be NICE neither. RexRex, you've been on this site for 2yrs now. No one's gonna hold your hand and walk you through everything.

I hear that....mine is dead...AGAIN...gotta download the software again.....:notgood: it gets old! maybe if I kept better track of it, the batteries wouldnt die!

well, my logger does that too everytime the battery dies. That's why I have all of the files saved on the computer and have QuickInstall as an icon on my homescreen. This way when it dies you just plug up the computer and do a quick reinstall. It only takes a minute.

A lot depends on the design, but you should get better atomization with a smaller injector.

Anyone with larger injectors want to comment on their mgp?

I run 750's with my evoIII on dsmlink, and if your car is tuned properly there will be no change in your mpg. Defently go with a fmic, I origionally ran my evoIII with an upgraded HRC smic. It will work with a smaller smic but you would want to keep the boost 18 or under orthwise you will knock from time to time. You will need an adjustbale fpr if you want to run that 255 fuel pump. 660's will be fine if your keeping the safc but I would agree to get rid of the safc & get dsmlink, its a much better tunning package. If you do go with the link go 750+ injectors. With my 750's I currently see around 70% duty cycle with ~20 psi.

hey check out my setup i too am aiming for the big 300hp club check out my dyno and it will give you some idea as to what more is needed:thumb: my mods are as follows

evo 3 16g
3" downpipe
ported head
ported o2 housing
hks 264ex 264in cams
6 bolt swap with 2g pistons
super afc and datalogger
stock uicp
stock side mount
stock catback and stock muffler
boost set @ 18 psi
:boring: ect!

i think with the addition of 3"catback, fmic,
boost turned up to about 20psi:rolleyes: i will be looking 300hp dead in the face;)

here is my dyno sheet!

I was able to pull another 2.5 - 3 lbs/min by upgrading my UICP (with a 1g BOV). Might want to look into that for a nice boost in HP.

Like you, I still have the stock catback. ;) I need to have the Spyder dynoed again to see where I'm at now.
