I've searched and really haven't found any real answers so I'm going to ask.

My build is well done, all parts that i need have been ordered so by this time next week I'll be on pins and needles for fireing it up the first time 3years almost.

but my question is about cams, even tho im kind of running stock, besides a 14b, FMIC, apex n1 exhaust, custom downpipe, and a fuel pump rewire, what do i need to run cams?

I'm asking as i have yet to put the stockers in as i wanted to BC 272's in but reading that i need a fuel setup to adjust and such for them  . so thats why im asking, is it really needed? if they is, ill just put them on my list when i plan on getting a 6bolt (stroker) and swaping it in for next sesaon. (right now goal is to get it to run but i wanted it to sound mean LOL)

sorry if i sound dumb or n00besh i haven't found alot of answers online.

What is your fuel setup? If your on a 14b, just throw in a walbro 190, some bigger than stock injectors and call it a day.
BC272's are nice for the price, but I would honestly get something a little better. Like a set of fp2 cams from forcedperformance.net would be great.
Cams like hks 264,272, bc272s, fp1, fp2 etc (nothing that is fp#x) will work on stock springs and retainers.

im on a stock system besides a rewire (yet to be done). i read/was told by a few i need some kind of setup.

I like the BC's because they fit into my budget, now if i pass and save up like i've been doing (school and RL events) i might spring for the FP2's but i was about to hit the BIN button but found some post and peeps saying no i dont have the setup to run cams.

While it's apart, put some cams on. You can put cams on a bone stock car if you want. My nephew bought a bone stock car, water pump went out, so while doing that we put some bc272s in there.
The bc272s are nice, but I would never use them.

I ran the Comp 101200's with a 14b, stock intercooler, and stock injectors for a little while. I was using a 255lph pump that wasn't rewired and had no issues. I did degree the cams and use adjustable cam gears, but I did a lot of head work and thought they were absolutely necessary to get back to stock timing settings. I'm using a Ross piston, Eagle rod combo with 1mm oversize valves. I noticed a good improvement. The 255, even without the rewire, was overrunning the stock FPR and the car ran pretty rich.

they that bad of a cam? i see them every where... odd. thanks for the input.
