Well as it states.. I'm about ready to go to dyno.. 'm getting all the bugs worke out, selling my 2nd (low pressure) 255 with an install for the money to cover a 2nd 255hp (if you remember the issues i had mixing them you'll know why i'm doing this) Also the 2nd pump will only come on above 20psi and when the nitrous is active.
I've only got to payfor and istall my 20g and tune it with tht and the nitrous and it's off to the dyno... After that I'm buying a new set of slicks and it's off to the 1/4 mile, all i can say is f#(k this 1/8 mile crap around here, I could almost spin the entire 1/8th on an open diff with 26'' tall slicks and only 19 psi, this year should be fun if the axles don't give out (they are new at least)
My main questions is, has anyone ran e85 with nitrous? If so how much a jump in the ful jet was required (im starting with a 35 shot and working up to a 70-75 range) I was able to get a used fogger nozzle and a fuel line from solenoid to the nozzle along with some jets today for a really good deal ( i mean really good, or it would have had to wait) All the parts are in good shape, so my n2o system is once again complete
I got some various jets while there in case i needed them to fine tune or make more power, plus being that it's a NX nozzle i can use the nitrous jets on both fuel and laughing gas...IIRC NOS brand used different ones but i could be mistaken it's been several years since i ran the laughing gas on my car
Here's the list of jets i have in NX brand #18, 22, 31 and 38... Then i also have a 42 in NOS brand that with just a slight triming of the stem will work with the NX nozzle i'm sure. (plus since i learned tonight through test fitting that the jet size is just a nmeasure of the whole in thousandths of an inch i have the array of bits to make any jet i want...just about anyway)
NOw the NX site says 31n/18f = 35hp shot... then 41N/24F = a 74 shot.the NX site says the fuel jets are based on a static FP of 43 psi will this make the same jet stay right as the FP rides???? I can get more jets, but i figure these will kep me in the lower limits until i figure out how my combo will behave. I was to start some where between the 35 and 50 areas... So using their nitrous jet recomendations is there a "rule of thumb" on how far to increase the fuel one when on E85 ?(and i mean besides the general e85 rule of ~30% more)
Dyno vid to come soon, then as soon as i re-save after the new turbo for some new slicks there will be 1/4 mile footage to follow
hopefully you can see me get asked to stop racing because i dont have a cage when i (hopefully) hit high to mid 11's the first time. With all the new stuff rangine from cams and springs, to a 9:1 motor with H beam rods, no B-shafts and an 8lb flywheel and better driving skills on this car over the last 5 years i better be well into the 11's.. I think the smooth shifting TRE stage 2.5 + quiafe LSD is going to make the biggest difference though, and with the addition of N2o during spool and in the top of third there should be plenty of room to blow the launch and still hit 11 something
I want to sand bag untili get a real good 60 foot time then afte the launch have a higher boost setting and ride the nitrous as lons as theirs traction...... I will shat my pants and admit it if the car were to some how go 10's ( I used my coil over suspension and a set of 4 SCCA style scales to balance the weight on the front end and bias as much of it to the front as the suspension would allow with out looking plain retarted/wannabe rednek cmaro )
According to my old logs the shifts are the only thing tht kep me from an 11.99.. i could count around a second or more easily in shift times alone on my datalogs with the stock trans trying to keep me out of any gear i tried to grab, this TRE is like butter at 8k RPM and me likey!
Ideas on the jetting is needed.. all other coments welcome ( as long as tehy follow forum guigelines anyway
)
