The security light comes on when I lock the door from the drivers keyhole but turns off after a couple seconds. I tested out my system by locking the door from the drivers said then reaching in and opening the door and there's no alarm. Could it be a fuse or something? I don't have a remote btw. Do I need one or something?

Try popping your hood but not open it all the way, roll you windows up and lock your doors(make sure you have your keys out of the car). With the alarm set, windows up, open the hood all the way.The alarm should go off if the hood sensor is working correctly. That should let you know if the alarm is working.

The security light is suppose to go out after a few seconds.

Yeah I don't know if the alarm would still be armed if the window is down and it gets unlocked. I'll have to try it out on mine. But I know for a fact that if you have the hood popped but not open all the way and arm the system, if you open that hood it will sound (scared myself many times LOL).

So, I just tested on my car to see if the alarm will still sound even if the window is cracked enough to get your arm in and unlock it. Well it does so, do your lights come on when you open the door? I know that the passenger side switch on my car is bad and I can open that door with the car armed and it will not go off. If your switches are good(light come on when you open the door) then I don't know where to start looking elsewhere.

Yeah mines the opposite my drivers side switch is bad so you could break in my drivers door and nothing happen LOL but I'd first start by testing for continuity at both doors and go from there its not gonna be easy to fix without some good ole fashion know how, sorry to say :-/

GL though bud hope you get it figured out!!

Yeah my lights come on when both doors and the hatch are open. And I tried popping the hood then arming the car then unlatching the hood to see if it'd go off and still nothing. I also checked the fuse box under the hood to see if there was a fuse that would be for the alarm system and found nothing. Ahh I don't know where else to look

So, according to the manual found here Download Useful Files - SymTech Laboratories the way they test it is in fact how you initially tested it. There are some theft relays down in the left side of the dash for the theft horn and for the theft starter. There is also relays in the left rear speaker panel. You should go to the link and download the manuals for you year to see what I'm talking about. They are free to DL you just have to apply for a DL key. Just put in that you saw a link here on tuners and they should provide one.

Sorry I'm back on my phone or i would show pics.
