I have a 95 TSI that has a DEI alrm that someone before me put in. The problem that I'm having is that when I got my new remote, every time I turn the key, the alarm seems to go into shutdown mode. When I remove the key, the LED on the dash stays on constant, and the parking lights don't flash, but the keyless entry still works. When I unplug it, and then plug it back in, everything works again untill I use the key in the ignition. I checked the fuses and connetions and nothing seems to be wrong. Its not a huge deal, but really annoying. Any help would be great. Thanks

Oh, and if it helps, I just had the remotecode cut today. Thanks in advance for the help.

for some reason it is going into valet mode. Is there a switch somewhere for the valet mode. On my alarms, you have to turn the ignition on and hold the switch for 10 secs. to turn the valet on. Valet shuts everything off except keyless entry. See if you can find a valet switch and go from there.....

I agree, must be valet mode. My alarm light is always on constant when a door is ajar or when in valet mode.

i run a custom car shop, and we are a DEI dealer. you are going to have to find the valet switch, and either unplug it, or get a new one. the swtch probably went bad. if you need more info, i need to know excaclt what kind it is. what it says on the alarm.. i can get you the wiring diagram to tell you what wires do what. just let me know

Thanks for the help guys. I replaced the valet switch and it works. Now if I could only find out what happened to the siren......:p

what's wrong with the siren? not workeing right or at all. One quick tip, if your siren is pointed even slightly upward, it most likely got warter into it. Water will sit in there until it seeps into the siren. If it's shot, you can get another one cheap. just make sure when you install it that you point it downward. Even just the slightest bit so when water gets into it it can run back out without sitting in it.. But 9 times out of 10 thats the problem
