My '99 Spyder GST's alarm goes off spontaneously. I recently replaced a broken driver's side handle and I suspected the key switch was loose or the wiring was maybe moving around in the door, but I opened the door back up and everything looks good. The alarm only goes off if I lock the door. Sometimes it goes off within minutes, sometimes hours. Also, the remote didn't work, so I reprogrammed it and it worked for a few minutes and then stopped working.
As an aside, the car overheated and died a couple of months ago and I replaced the head gasket. Since then, the electrical system has been acting funny.
Thanks.

Its probably the hood switch. They get bent down and will make the alarm go off.

look and see if it looks bent or take it off the mounting bracket and lay it down in the car without unplugging it.

I locked the car and pushed and tugged on the hood and the alarm did not go off. I raised the bracket on the switch just in case and locked it again. See if it goes off.
Are there any other sensors or switches that might cause this.? Thanks.
