my airflow hz is getting maxed out and from the little bit of reading i did on this it tells me that i can effect my timing advance i deffently see that unless my base timing is off. does anybody know a reason why they are getting maxed out at 1599hz 4.5k and up???

thanks in advance
david

yeah its setup with the maft translator. is it bad to be seeing 1599hz? from what i read it will lower your timing advance if your getting too much airflow hz, is this true?

thanks

Not true. Once you reach the WOT map on the ECU, timing curve will remain the same regardless of how much airflow you are seeing. When you use piggyback controllers like AFC/MAFT to tune by lying about airflow numbers, you can pull the car off of the WOT map, so timing advance starts to increase because of decreased airflow numbers.

Are you sure? I am not trying to start a battle but I have always heard/read that airflow levels per rev and engine speed controled timing regarldess of TPS. If you could through me a link of some evidence to help clear this issue up i would appeciate it.

You are correct. Its not throttle based at all.

Once you are on the lop load row (2.06 grams/rev) your timing curve will not change. Unless you are running extended timing and fuel maps, then it goes to 4.12 gram/rev

Thanks I just wanted to give that kid a chance to back up his claim somehow, (after he said the correct information was wrong) The info was excellent thanks.

By WOT map I was not referring to WOT in terms of TPS... I should have been more specific. By WOT timing map, I meant the top load map. Hence when you pull fuel out with an AFC or MAF-T, you take the car off of the top load map and timing curve goes up....
