air leak from throttle body..need helpASAP

I have a vacuum leak coming out of the ....well hard to describe but here I go...On the throttle body there's this cylindrical piece that points up. My car was dying and shit and I could hear this awful leak. I put my finger over that piece I described and the leak stopped and my car would idle.....once we moved our finger the leak was happening and the car died. Is there suppose to be a plug or something there??? Hose???? Not sure...never have had the problem....If someone could throw me an idea that would be great..

Do you have a pic of where this is at? Are you talking about where the BISS screw is?
