In doing a boost leak test, I found pretty good leaks around 3 of the injectors. Is this a common prob??? Is there an easy fix?

You can start by replacing the injector insulators if they are hard and don't seal well.
There are cheap and you just have to pull the fuel rail to get at them.
When the car is running the fuel pressure helps to hold the injectors against the insulator to improve the seal.

Good point!

So in replacing the insulators, will there be anything else I'll need to replace when R&Ring the injectors? Wanna order everything I need from the dealer all at once.

1. Not if your careful and don't pull the injectors out of the fuel rail. O-rings to be safe for both the injectors and for the fuel rail fittings.
2. Depends on what else you find after you seal the injectors.

Wawazat, this is a good deal on the injector O-rings and insulators

http://www.machv.com/fuelincomork.html

satan (mitsu dealer) would want more $$$ for that O-ring set.

Safety safety safety.
The injectors are fairly easy to replace. If you have the mitsu shop manual the istructions are explicit.
If you are doing it, I would suggust you disconnect the battery, and DO NOT let ANY debris get into the injector hole.

GOOD LUCK

I don't know offhand how much the dealer wants for the injector sheets (upper gromit) but $40 for the set seems expensive considering Road Race wants $14 for the insulators and o-rings and the sheets usually aren't bad.

Steve you are correct. RRE is a cheaper, but I would change all 3. I am curious to know how much satan could beat that price.

The part numbers are:

MD614813 o-ring $2.68 each list
MD614805 sheet $4.25 each list
MD087060 insulator $1.53 each list

Looking at a couple of discount dealerships you should be able to get 4 or each for less than $26 or $34 at list from a local dealer.

Steve good job!!!! I guess machv mark 'em up a percentage and still don't include shipping and handling.

I would if I was in their shoes. Inventory costs money and convenience has value.
Some things they sell are really good values compaired to what you can do on your own, like TB seals but in general most of what they sell you can do better on your own.

Hey right on guys! Thanx for the leg work!! I have a pretty good relationship w/my local Mitsu Dealer. I'll check w/them during the week.

BTW...should I clean the injectors while they're off? Is there an easy way without wrecking them???

Is cleaning the injectors even worth the trouble if everything seems fine? I've got 114,000 mi & am at the track blowin' plenty of fuel though 'em about every other weekend.

Also, I ordered all the o-rings insulators & sheets from Mitsu today. The parts diagram also showed insulators on the 3 fuel rail posts. Anyone ever find the need to replace these? I think they just insulate the fuel rail & the head. Nothing, I don't think, to leak there.

Those are spacers for the fuel rail made from hard plastic and they never get replaced unless you loose them into the engine compartment taking them off or you crack one from overtightening.

There is nothing useful in the way of cleaning you can do at home. Crusin Performance is about the closest place to get them cleaned and checked http://www.cruzinperformance.com/

I paid $25 and some change for all 12 different seals from a Mitsu Dealer online all the way in Ohio.
They shorted my 7 seals, and I called them on Friday and let them know, and they next day Fed Ex'd them to my house on a Saturday....
Now that's customer service.....
