air intake loose

Ok I was replacing my cheap ebay air intake with a quality one when I looked inside the intake manifold or whatever is called (not a mechanic guru) there was like a kind of gunk or grease type of substance, a lot of it. I did run my car for about 6 hour with out noticing that my air intake was loose and my car was taking straight dirty air two days ago. Now can I clean that with some kind of spray cleaner or do I need to remove it. What about my injectors should I remove them too?

It's probably from pcv, oil blow by from crankcase which routes back to the intake manifold and you don't really have to worry about it. Do take this opportunity to clean your TB like described here .

If you're determined to clean it out, there are numerous cleaners that are made for it.
Seafoam makes a good spray cleaner called Seafoam Deep Creep. You spray the entire inside and let it sit. It works well.
You could also just use seafoam(regular)
Or as he^^^^^said, just leave it. It's pretty normal to have.
