air conditioning poor

alrighy heres the question the a/c in my car ( a 93 talon tsi fwd ) barely blows at all ... it it very slightly colder than when i dont have the a/c on. wondering am i going to need a new unit altogether or just a recharge? ...

Try a recharge first. It's cheap, and if it lasts, you'll know. If your compressor clutch continues to click, it could be a problem with the compressor, OR no coolant. But, if you listen for it after the recharge, you'll know it's not a lack of r134a.

93 still used R12. Have the system diagnosed by a local AC shop and see what they advise. Changing to 134a or a replacement will reduce the system's cooling capability.
