Hey Tuners,
Well I just got done installing a gt35r bolt-on from slowboy  . I double checked everything from hoses to nuts to make sure everything was ok to start. Well at idle sometimes it drops to 200-300 rpms or it just stalls out  . I took it for a drive and it drives hard and fast but as soon I stop at a light it either stalls out or goes it a very low idle.

Well on the compressor housing the is a hole for a nipple to screw on so I did and hooked up the other end of the hose to the top of the External wastegate (hks). Right now the hose is kind of pinching inbetween the radiator and on top of the wastegate, would that cause the irratic idle. Can I just disconnect the line and blockoff the hole in the compressor and leave the top nipple of wastegate open?

All hoses are conected (vacuum lines, etc) also there are no leaks (oil or coolant). I just want my car to idle ok and not stall everytime at a light or making a turn onto a driveway.

Please help need...
Thanks

Sounds like a boost leak to me or you didn't reconnect all of your vac lines right.

If you leave the vac line off the WGA, you have no boost control, and you'll overboost. If you do as you suggested and run the vac line from your compressor outlet to the WGA, you'll limit boost to the WGA actuation pressure which might be as low as 8 or 9 psi.

If you want to control boost, you need a boost controller. It goes in the middle of the line from the compressor to the WGA and "fools" (sort of) the WGA into opening at higher boost levels that you choose (by setting the MBC).

At a minimum, run the vac line from the compressor to the WGA and do a boost leak test.

Watch your boost on your boost gauge (you do have an aftermarket gauge, right?) and that'll tell you what the WGA actuation pressure is. If it's not as high as you can run with your current setup, then get an MBC (as cheap as $50).

EDIT: Just saw your profile. You list an boost controller, so you need to hook that up (check the instructions so you get it "wired" properly).

I know you probably checked this but your maf is connected right?

The maft is connected and today it is still doing the same thing : stalling out at lights and stop signs...

Have you done a boost leak test since the turbo upgrade? If you have a vaccuum leak, you could be running rich at idle.

I did a boost leak and found one at the biss screw so i need an o-ring. I check the vacuum lines and all connected except the one that goes to the intake (charcoal canister hose), my intake has no nipples to apadt the holes to.

I still have the crazy idle... but it has calm down a bit. If I have the car on when i start it, it is sometimes ok but when I start driving it and hit a light it trys to stall out but I push the gas a little and make the idle go upi and then I let go the gas pedal and it idles around 850-1100 rpms.
Can it be also the cams making it irratic? But I have had the cams on since Nov 2006 and no problems then.
thanks

Hey I don't think your dealing with tubo issues, I think you need to idle relearn your car...
in case you need info on this.... it's easy take your neg. post off for ten minutes, make sure your lights, a/c stereo are turned off. When the ten minutes are up put the cable on start the car, let it idle for ten minutes, no reving no acessories on just idle .... see if that helps...

Hey I just did that this morning and I was thinking of the some thing about relearning and it helped alittle but still have the same effects (bad/irratic idle)
But thanks for the help.

Are you venting? If so, are you using a MAFT?

SBR

I am not venting. My BOV is connected to my intake.
thanks for the response.

I still have this problem and I think my EBC is hookup up backwards, will this affect it...
I will switch the vacuum lines that connect to my external wastegate and to the stepper motor of my profec b boost controller and I will update later on today.
thanks again

Update:
Well I tried switching the vacuum lines form my EBC to the external wastegate And still no luck I still have an irratic idle. Any other helpful ideas I should look at?
