After timing belt change, check base timing required?

I'm pretty sure the answer to this is "no", but I just want to check with you guys. Had a few parts installed recently (turbo, intercooler, intercooler piping) and also got my timing belt changed. The last time my tuning shop were playing with the engine was when they installed my new cams, the set the timing but without grounding the firewall connector thing. Hence my timing was a few degrees out.

Should I check it again after they have replaced the timing belt, or is there nothing really that can alter the base timing in doing that? Hope you can understand my question :)

The first time they didn't set it right, I set it later properly after borrowing a friend's light. Might do that again this time.

Heh if they messed up the first time just make sure again because they may think their way is right.

Your smart to check it again, better safe than sorry.

Assuming that the timing belt was done correctly and that you don't have adjustable cam sprockets the CAS adjustment shouldn't have changed in the process of replacing the timing belt. It's mechanically coupled to the intake cam and bolted to the head so it shouldn't move without the installer messing up the intake cam timing.

Yes it should be checked. Reasons being the same reason why you need to adjust the CAS everytime you change the degreeing of your intake cam. If your old timing belt had a lot of slop in it, tensioner dead, etc the original position of where CAS was can now be reading different than before the change. It may be miniscule, but the CAS does not take much to change a few degrees.
