i bought a Aeromotive afpr kit for my 2g dsm last month or so. the car has been in the shopping getting a trans rebuilt. i installed it yesterday and it will only hold 32psi. if you take the vacuum line off it goes up to 34. if you turn the adjuster all the way up or down it doesn't move. any ideas why? i have tried to flip the spring and bevel washer around around and still nothing has changed.

The kit should have come with a high pressure spring in the box, and a low pressure spring installed, you have to swap the low pressure spring for the high pressure one. Also when you set the FP to 43.5psi with the vacumm line off, and plugged, mark the adjustment rod where it meets the FPR body, then back the rod all the way out wrap teflon on the threads to just under that line you marked, then screw the rod back into the 43.5psi mark, and tighten the lock nut down, and make sure the adjustment rod doesn't move any. this will prevent from pressure escaping through the rod (happens, but most don't realise it), and will provide you with a perfect FR for your 2G.

Check for kinks in the fuel lines. Have you done a fuel pump yet? If you have, did you take the o-ring, and spacer off the old one? This would create a blockage, and thus lower fuel pressure, that can't be upped, or down.

i check it again. i pulled apart and everything seems to be find. i checked other people pictures and i have it set up the same way they do. i put the stock fpr back in and checked the fuel pressure. i checked it off the fuel filter and it was around 53 psi. any other idea on what it could be?

mine oly came with one spring, is there any way to tell if it is the low or high pressure spring?

The low pressure spring that the aeromotive fpr comes with is long and thin, while the high pressure one is much shorter and thicker. If you didn't have to swap them out before install, you probably have the low pressure one. Double check the box the afpr came in, the spring is supposed to be in there and might have fell under the cardboard flap. If not, call Aeromotive to send you one.

i put the high pressure in and it made no difference. can you adjust the pressure with the can running or do i have to shut it off everytime i want to adjust it?
