AFPR is it needed

I've read all the searches and I have one on my 1G laser But I have recently purchased a new dsm to me and It has the current mods in my profile. This car has no afpr should it? won't this give me erratic fuel pressure at wot and run rough. The car run a little rough but i figured it was the cams and no balance shafts. Are 2G's diff or something? Any help would be great.Thanks

If your car doesn't have an aftermarket AFPR, it has the stock non-adjustable FPR. An AFPR is always a good thing to have. The fuel pump you currently have is probably not overrunning the stock one yet. I'm not sure if any of your other mods would require or highly suggest getting one though.

Although you have a 190, I would suggest an AFPR for rock solid 1:1 fuel pressure across the board. This just takes one less headache out on the tuning path.

The best thing to do is to measure your fuel pressure at idle.
If you're overrunning the OE regulator, then your fuel pressure will be high, and you'll need an AFPR.
If your pressure numbers are dead-on, then you can wait on the purchase of an AFPR.

Since you have a 190 it is not needed but is nice to have. The problem when your stock regulator gets overrun is that the fuel presure increases at idle and cruise, not wot. Since this happens the injectors will spray more fuel into the cylinder than needed. The fuel will wash down the cylinder walls which will eventually contaminate the piston rings. This will cause you to have to rebuild your engine sooner. It won't do this at wot because since your boosting the fuell pressure will rise 1psi for every psi of boost. And the engine needs so much fuel since it runs richer at wot than at cruise that the pump can't overrun the stock regulator.
