Question: would there ever be a reason to run a external boost controller outside the one built in the Aem ems? just checking before I get rid of the boost controller.

Yes, if it is like the DSMlink v3 it only keeps the boost set at the time of tuning. Without it you would have to hook up the laptop and change it through the AEM, instead just turning a nob. Without an external boost controller you would have less control over boost quickly. I asked the same question but I was assured by a reputable DSM vendor and builder that keeping the external boost controller is the best bet. If I'm wrong I would like to know. I'm not sure if the AEM stand alone unit is better then the V3 link, but it is pretty awesome and assume it works in a similar way.

Thanks I will hold on to the boost controller then I need to look into this more to under stand how it will work I always did like the conveyance of the multi Chanel boost controller at a push of a button

I'm thinking that you would only use the boost controller if something went wrong and needed to turn the boost down on the fly right?
