I'm trying to install my ACT Streetlite flywheel and it doesn't seem as if my OEM bolts are long enough to hold it? I can't manage to get them to all thread. Any ideas why this is happening?

Strange. I used OEM with my Streetlite no problem at all; plenty of threads. I know with most aluminum flywheels you need the longer ARP bolts but the Streetlite disk is thinner at the center hub area since it is chromoly.
Are you sure you don't have flexplate bolts? I know those are shorter.

Does the center ring fit into the middle of your flywheel? Mine seems to rest on top of it instead but its the bolts that were on it. stock flywheel and all. I'm not sure of the length of an oem bolt so I can't be positive its the right bolt.

Your not swapping from an auto, right?

Can you post a pic of how the flywheel meets up with the crank.
Is this what you mean by a "center ring"?:

If so, you have an engine that had a flexplate for an automatic, not a flywheel. If that is actually the case, just remove that ring and your flywheel will fit. You would however need the longer flywheel bolts still rather than the shorter flexplate bolts.

Wow. I feel a Little dumb haha but that is exactly the case. Thank you! It was a junkyard motor just to get it running. Never crossed my mind it could have been an auto. :thumb:

My only concern now is how to remove that ring. It seems to be wedged in there very tight.

any takers? I'm trying to get this shit done like yesterday haha
