Hey guys, I have 3 basic questions. I have a 1997 GS-T that is putting down just under 300 wheel horsepower, and I have no intention of going any higher, and am completely satified with driveability, except the clutch.... The previous owner had put an ACT2600 on with the stock flywheel. I am considering replacing this with an ACT Streetlite Xact Flywheel and a newer SCT MB1-HDSS Clutch Kit, new OEM Relase Fork, and new OEM Pivot Ball.
- Will all of this just bolt right in...as in is the flywheel already stepped properly and machined, just bolt up and drive?
- Is ACT now sending OEM Throw Out Bearings with the clutch kit, or will I need to purchase a separate OEM one?
- Will this setup hold my power well?
The main reason I want to go ahead with this switch is I dislike the difficult clutch as I enjoy daily driving the car not going for quarter mile times as the previous owner was. I do open it up often but never launch, and never run anything but stock tires. I replaced my Master Cylinder and Slave with brand new OEM ones, and put in a Slowboy Braided Steel line, and properly adjusted my Master cylinder, only to still have a low engagement point along with a pedal that's too stiff for my liking. I want to solve the problem by just replacing everything rather than trying to discover if the stock flywheel was stepped right, is the fork/ball need shims or replacing, etc. etc......i already had the dealer check for crankwalk and that is non-existant. So I would rather drop the dough, get a fresh non-beaten easier clutch (that can hopefully hold the power) and have a more pleasant driver, and inherently fix the low engagement problem all at once.
Thanks a ton ahead of time guys!
