About the RNRRacing 3" turbo back

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

We actually the turbo back systems never come with flanges. The turbo back systems come with real tight slip fits(Buschur Style). Once the car heats up and the slip fits seal there will be no problems.

The muffler comes with no tip. We have the 4" N1 style tip, but that is an extra $40. All the slip fits are on the end of the pipes. They are not seperate.

We want our customers to be happy and we will do whatever it takes to keep them happy. We stand behind our work 100%. Just ask KingEarl.

Thanks for the comments and let me know if there are any questions.

Are people having problems with the whole system or what. I want just the 3" O2 eliminator DP. I wave a thermal catback I want to mate it to. I will have to take the thermal and get the neck cut of and a 3" end welded on but thats no problem. I just want to make sure DP is gonna line up.

What are the big beni's to ventng the O2. I know i have emissions test so really i can't but if the pro's are FAR more than putting it back into the exhaust i may have to do some pay off's. What do most people that have the O2 eliminator DP's do, evnt or route it back into the exhaust?

Allright, well, based on you guys' recommendations, I got the 3" O2 Eliminator turbo back with Cat and SS muffler. Overall I like it, since it gave huge performance gains, but everything else that went along with it bothers me.

I'm in the same boat you are. I got the 3" turbo-back but without the 02 Eliminator. It's loud as hell. I guess some people like that but it drives me nuts. I haven't even driven it the past 4 days in fear of getting pulled over. I can definately feel the performance increase, though. As for the install, I didn't have any of the problems you did. The slip fittings worked great, and I used some muffler band clamps for added security. I currently have an Apexi muffler on order from Ebay and it should be here by next week. If that doesn't quiet this thing down I'm going to have to put in some resonators cuz this thing sets off 4 different car alarms when I roll into a parking lot.

For a daily driven street car just go with internal dump. It is quiet and still gives you great performance. The ext. dump can get annoying after a while.

I don't think the APEX muffler is going to quiet it down any. It still a straight through muffler. You are going to need a either a high flow cat or resonators to make a difference.

whats with this the exhaust is loud stuff? Also about the fitting?

I am going to put a order in for my exhaust monday more than likely. I am going with the 3inch AWD Turbo Back 02 eliminator Exhaust, with a HI-FLow Cat and the 4inch tip. I wanted a deep sounding exhaust and everyone has pointed to RnR. So whats up guys..will i be happy or what?

Ryan seems like a real nice guy and will do anything to make us happy. I am still more than likely going to get it ryan. I will have a couple questions tho about it before i buy it. I will call monday with more of the specifics.

The 3" exhaust isn't too loud. Some might think so, but most everyone is running 3" systems on the street without any problems. The cat will quiet it down as well.

Any problems with rear hangers has been resolved with our new jigs we have. There have only been maybe a few complaints out of close to 100 exhaust orders.

I'm telling you guys-- if you're concerned at all about the exhaust being loud, just get the 2.5" one. I bet you a nickel you will not suffer any performance losses vs. the 3" (especially if you get the O2 elim) unless you're running a turbo bigger than your arse.

Ryan has been very helpful to me since I got my exhaust. It was much louder than I had planned. He has offered me different ways of quieting it down. It's nothing particular to the 3" RNR, it's just the nature of a 3" high flow exhaust with no restrictions. My muffler is straight-through.. for now I'm pretty sure that a new, quieter muffler will solve my problems. I'm happy with everything except the sound. The welds and install were great, and the performance increase from stock was mind blowing.

Allright, well, based on you guys' recommendations, I got the 3" O2 Eliminator turbo back with Cat and SS muffler. Overall I like it, since it gave huge performance gains, but everything else that went along with it bothers me. The pipe he sent me needed to be recut, it wasn't flanged, and there were no slip fittings sent with the kit, there was no tip on the muffler, and the thing is f***ing loud and obnoxious. Also 1 hanger doesn't fit cuz the pipe would then hit the driveshaft. I'd buy the O2 Eliminator downpipe again, but not the rest of the kit. Cost way too much for how much fabrication it took to make it work. I also still get boost creep with my ported 16g. Just my 2 cents... :/

I've stayed out of this thread for a while, since I'm sure that Ryan and the rest of you are all sick of me #####ing about how long it took to get my system here, and once it showed up I had a bunch of work to do to it before it was ready to hang.

For reference, I ordered a 2.5" eliminator/turbo-back system with a resonator added, to suit a 1G AWD.

As my car is a 120mi daily driver, I wanted it quiet. So in addition to having the resonator I wrapped the whole thing (excluding flex, cat, resonator and muffler), then sprayed it with 3 coats of the DEI silicone gunk.

I cannot recommend doing this unless you plan to immediately drive for about 5 hours on the freeway, or have a respirator handy. The fumes were overpowering; I had people moving away from me at stoplights.

As noted by others, the exhaust arrived minus clamps and tip. I had to buy a 10-pack of Walker Mega-Clamps (highly recommended, though I only needed 4) in order to assemble the system. I don't have a tip (just the 2" long pipe section welded on the muffler outlet) and I'm not entirely unhappy with the look.

I encountered the following problems:

- Cat inlet was not round, had to be disciplined with a hammer.
- Piping from flex back runs too close to the driveshaft at the front, cat has to be hung almost vertical to miss the heatshield and front u-joint.
- Resonator is too far outboard at the back, forcing some dremel work on the heatshield (would have been fine if it was a bit further inboard).
- Turbo flange did not align well (was ####ed a little in both roll and yaw axes). TBH, I would have to guess that lining this guy up when building the eliminator section is a royal pain in the backside.
- Turbo flange did not match my ported 16G (not really surprising, since no two ported turbos are the same).

My bottom-line analysis then is this; you get what you pay for. In my case, I was willing to put in the rest of the effort to make the system work, and I'm happy with the end result even though it's not quite what I envisaged going into the exercise.

If you're expecting something complete, out of the box, with stickers, then RnR's work may not be for you. If you want a source of OK components at an excellent price, then they're worth considering.

[EDIT] And of course, I should say that with the resonator and the wrap, the system is not all that much louder than stock at cruise or idle.

It's *MUCH* louder when you give it some stick, though. I get the best of both worlds, really. :D

DrZiplok, I remember your system and it did take little longer than expected. We have fixed that sistuation we had and now get stuff out usually around 1 week later. I remember having a slight problem gettting the resonators. I am happy that you like the end result. Hopefully it will be something you can enjoy for the life of your car.

Little things like installing and slip fits are just part of installing the exhaust. I guess we have just grown use to them.

We accept online orders and accept credit cards through paypal.com at the email [email protected] We should be accepting real credit cards over the phone shortly to make it easier on the guys who don't have paypal accounts.

After getting my RNR system I started to wish that I had gotten a system that used flanges. The more I think about it though, I think the slip fit connections are better in some respects. I've heard of apex downpipes coming apart. I think if you are running rubber motor mounts and your engine torques really hard, the slip fits will have a chance to slip and rotate rather than breaking the downpipe. Just my opinion though, I have no facts.

Plus the slip fits are easier to install and remove. It makes the have no chances of blowing out gaskets as well.

hey ryan..wheres the option for the 4" tip on the site? or does it come with the bullet ss muffler? i got about 1 months worth to save and im picking it up..finally..LOL..im the guy from hawaii who wanted it slant style....PM or post back...thanks

It suppost to be on there as an N1 style tip option $40. I will tell the web designer to add it, Thanks

I just got the 4" tip that I ordered from Ryan-- I had the standard 3" slant tip before on the SS muffler. I really like the way the 4" one looks-- I got it welded on a couple days ago and I'll post a pic if anybody's interested. Worth the extra cash, IMO.

Doug-

Is everyone in Florida forced to have that fruity looking license plate with the dolphin on it, or did you choose to have that style? ;) JK.

I have a very manly looking cactus on my AZ plate.
