A/T N/T 1g??

Hey all, I have just bought a 91 n/t 2.0l automatic car that a transmission shop told me the transmission is going to need rebuilt. I was wondering what other cars besides e/t/l that a auto transmission from will work? Only one junk yard has a eclipse and it's auto but a 1.8l. Will the 1.8l tranny work? Thanks all.

....As long it's a F4A22 tranny, they'll swap out with no problems.

The F4A22 was used for both the 1.8 and the 2.0 NT setups.

Thanks, where on the tranny can I tell for sure or is that the only auto tranny option in the 1.8l?

F4A's were the only auto tranny for the 1.8's - the same as the 2.0NT motors.

On top of the bell housing should be a factory stamp that would give the model number. Also, on the sticker on the firewall will show this same F4A22 tranny number...

FYI, there are variances for the Turbo F4A trannies, like the F4A33 being the FWD, and the W4A33 for AWD.
