Oshawa,
With my 95 Talon, when I floor it it squeals. It doesn't matter on the speed, I can be doing 150km/h but it's not until I put the gas down past half to accelerate that it starts to make this squealing noise, maybe it's more like a whistle noise. I've heard from people that maybe it's one of the pullies or bearings in my timing belt case?

I don't think that it's a wheel bearing because if it was, if I was going fast it'd still make the noise, but it doesn't make it unless I'm givin' er.

Could it be a crack in my exhaust pipe maybe? Sounds like it's coming from the front passenger side.

Any ideas?

Does anyone happen to know the bolt size for the a/c belt tensioner? Mines gone and i looked through some spare bolts and found one but it woudnt go in much, so guessing becase the bolt isnt metric. Any ideas?

My car is squeeling on startup, and occasionally at stop signs. I have replaced all 3 belts and the Harmonic Balancer. When I replaced the belts the Alternator pulley would squeek if I turned it CCW. The squeek went away for about a week when I changed everything, but is back now.

If I take a long screwdriver and hold it against my ear to the alternator I can hear the bearing inside of it whineing. If your at a loss you can use the screwdriver method to listen to various bearings and such. I will be replacing my alternator this weekend or next, and I understand how annoying squeeling is.

Well i found out the alternator bolt is the same once used in the a/c tensioner, so ive just been using it on one, then tighten it down , and use it in the other. I have replaced all 3 belts and the crank pulley also but i still have something squeeling. I guess all thats left is the compressor, tensioner, alt, and waterpump. I plan to take the a/c belt off and start it to see if that makes a difference or not and go from there.
