sorry to bring this back but I have the same problem.
I replaced my t25 with a 14b w/ shaftplay a few months ago...well soon after my waterpump went...so i replaced it, in doing to the pulley was accidently put on backwards causing the belt to chew up and causing my powersteering/waterpump/alternator to die...this caused my car to overheat but my lights were so dim i didnt notice...i drove slow all the way home, replaced the belt correctly and now I get on it and when i get on it sometimes a white plum of smoke (pretty damn big) emits from my exhaust in higher rpm levels...turbo? headgasket?
