well now i heard front mounts are a pain to put on the 1g personaly i know how to work and know a shit ton about my 92 eclipse so how much of the bumper reinforcement are we talkin bout cutting out i seen some that dont need to cut it but have trouble with power steering and a/c problems im thinking about geting this kit--> 90-94 MIT ECLIPSE GS DOHC 2.0L INTERCOOLER+PIPING 92 93 : eBay Motors (item 190337493911 end time Mar-23-10 18:44:17 PDT)
i think i could make it fit easily if not please let me know, also i have the turbosmart v band bov that fits this kit

It's not difficult, mock up the fmic, then use common sense, re-mock, take your time and use the right tools, mock again. Then bolt it together, Good Luck!

I took off the the whole bumper reinforcement when I put my on 3.5" FMIC along with my power steering and a/c. The bumper it just hanging there.

You do know JMFabrications makes a racing bumper so your bumper doesnt hang. I have one on my 1g since I have a huge FMIC that I had to get rid of my crashbeam.

You can see it right above my FMIC-

The bumper is well supported and looks fine hanging so it really doesn't matter whether I have the JMFab race bumper or not. It's not like it will protect anything if I get in a front end wreck.

^^ Well when I installed my FMIC my bumper was hanging and it wasnt pretty so it left me to get the JMF race bumper. The bumper isnt designed to protect you from anything, just supports the bumper from hanging, and yours aint nowhere bad as mine was.

i made my 91 talon look fine with a fmic. all u need to do it a test and tun e basically with ## fmic... put ## fmic on and c how close ## bumper fits if it don fit well take it off and cutt a little off wherever its rubbing then try it again ect ect...till u find out what works best for u!! luckly i did it how i liked it on my second try!! (But another thing you really dont want to use ebay intercooler's and or piping it tends to rust and i say that ### ive seen it happen many many times)!! hope i helped any

i used the PR kit and removed the power stearing/ac and hacked up the crash beam so as to just have the sides where is mounts and the top about an inch thick as to have something for the bumper to hang onto. i can take pics later tonight if interested...

You know do your research on intercooler size before you just go buy a huge core. It depends on how much power are you going to make total. I got a 28"x6"x2.5" with 2" inlets, and they are good for over 400HP. I'm not going to see that much on this car.

Think about something like this of your not going to see that much HP, because when I installed my 6" tall core, my boost fell off to 10psi off the gate, vs boosting 16psi with the stock.

Note: that core is a tube, and fin design. The one I bought was bar, and plate. For example. In mid summer last year, after beating the hell out of the car. Then stopping the car with the fan running, I got out to feel the IC, it literally felt like a fridge on the cold side. The hot side was just warm to the touch. I'll never soak, or max that core out for a long time.

Oh, and BTW I didn't cut anything at all off my crash bumper, I bolted it to the bottom of the car.

This one IS bar&plate design. I'd suggest removing the steering pump lines too, they are right in the way, and people never have problems after removing them.

It'll look something like this, I like it.
