Well before i get slammed, i know the autometer a/f gauge isnt really worth much, but i got it for dirt cheap from a friend of mine and i custom mounted my egt in the cig lighter hole, so i wanted to fill the spot. So after installing the gauge, everything was fine until i hit full boost which right now is 1 bar on my greddy gauge or 14.5 psi i believe.

Anyway, i go 2 bars into rich until about 4500-5000 rpms, then the gauge goes dead red. I have no fuel mods, but 15 psi should be more then safe on a s16g. Any ideas as to what it could be or am i just wrong in thinking the 16g can be boosted at 15 psi w/ no fuel mods?? Ive got the stuff to rewire my pump which i will do this weekend, but my question : will it help or should i man up and get some fuel management. Im not looking to boost it any higher right now, i just want the car to run rich under wot all the way to redline like it should be.

thanx in advance,
Chris

You are correct that it should at least stay on the rich side while at WOT. That is an accurate use of that gauge, and yes it is showing a problem. Most likely it's your fuel pump not supplying enough pressure/flow at that RPM. Doing the re-wire would be a good thing. You could also try resetting your ECU to let it recalculate the fuel trims based on your mods.

The 16g turbo (big or small) runs to much flow at 16 psi for most stock systems. You aren't supposed to go over 16psi on it without bigger injectors and a AFC! So the re-wire and preferrably a walbro 190 or 255 would be a good idea.

I used to easily hit over 100% DC in stock 450's with my B16G @ 13psi and a 3kGTVR4 pump
Once you hit 100% DC your done. There is no more fuel to be had so you go lean.
I turned up the base fuel pressure and kept the boost down until I got bigger injectors

Yes, rewire the pump and turn the boost down. 15psi on the stock t25 is enough for the stock fuel system and your trying to run that on a 16g that flows 505cfm's which is way more than the tiny t25. Not a smart idea :talon:

when's the last time u change ur fuel filter??

b4 i change my fuel filter, my af gauge only read about 3~4 bars to rich, after i changed it, i get about 2 bars more to the rich....so that might help a little.
