So my A/C stop working the other day. I thought it just ran out of freon. So i had to get a conversion kit to the 134a style A/C port. I replaced all the seals, and checked for leaks. Then started to put the freon in and nothing, the system is full but it doesnt blow cold air. i taped a wire to the compressor sensor and put it up to the positive on my battery, and the clutch is working. So then now is my problem, my compressor clutch is working, my system is full of freon and it doesnt leak. i even went to the junk yard and got one of those buttons that turns the A/C on and off. anybody has any ideas cause i dont know what to do anymore, i live in florida and i think i lost 20 pounds in 1 week from just driving. LOL
thanks

na i have the same problem i just put on a belt but havent tried to put freon.. it just blows out hot air.. is there anyway to test the compressor?

well my compressor does come on, but only when i put a wire that has been spliced into the compressor harness. i also checked the fuses just to make sure and they are all fine. so im really scratching my head. but try to put some freon in your system and make sure you have no leaks. if that doesnt work your in the same boat as me.

na well i got mine checked out.. turns out i have a huge hole in the ac condensor.. thinking of buying one off ebay.. $80 bucks is super cheap for a new one.

I went through this a few months ago.

It is pretty easy man.
Took me like an hour at the most.

Works like a charm now. Holds up to the Texas heat anyways.

what exactly do you have to do to replace it.. just unbolt and bolt back on?

Do you have gauges for both the high and low side? The system has a cutout switch if the pressure is too high or low. With you jumping the wire it just bust a line and spray freon all over you.

Low side should read about 45-50psi
High side should be about 300-350psi

Get the gauge readout and go from there.

Like stated above, it's a bit complicated. If the system has ever been exposed to atmosphere then it has moisture in it and will corode and may not blow cold. You will be best off replacing what you need and bring it to a certified mechanic to do the a/c service. Btw, the green light on the button is what supplies power to the a/c relay and the ecu sends ground. Then the power must go through both high and low switches before activating the compessor clutch coil. If you bypass either one of the switches you WILL damage the system.
