A/C problem diagnosis, High pressure?

I bought a A/C charging unit because my air went out and the compressor seems to kick on still, at least it bogs the car down when it is turned on.

The can's valve says I have way too much psi on the low side... why would that happen? What needs changed out?

Yeah, the fitting only works way down inside there and it is way over the recommended pressure. Any ideas?

Sounds like it's time to just bit the bullet and hire a real A/C shop to check it.
