Ok I need some help here, I was wondering when exactly would I need an AEM EMS, dsm link or any other ems during a 1g build. I keep reading that certian parts work better with an ems, My concern is if I do get one I have no clue how to tune or work it. Can anybody shed some light on this for me? Am I just making myself look like a fool? I just need to clear this up so I know for future refrence.

If you are asking this question then you don't need AEM ems. From personal preference I would get ECMlink or use something like the ostrich as early as possible. Even if you are still on stock injectors the other features such as dual stage boost controllers and no lift to shift will make any drag strip trips you make that much more fun.

Yah that what I figured, like how am I supposed to get something I cant use LOL. Now I know what the AEM EMS does so whats the difference in that and the ecmlink?

I have only watched people tune with EMS and have never done it myself so I am no expert but as I understand it EMS can be used to get the most out of some pretty wild set ups. 90% of the people that modify DSMs will never need more than ECMlink has to offer. Especially with all the added goodness of V3 like switchable fuel maps and speed density.

+1

Honestly, do some research. All your answers can be found in the forums by searching. You can save everyone time and effort by searching.

DSMlink or ECMlink is probably all you need. plus like SOADweskey said, V3 is amazing, I am running it and glad I spend 600 instead of 1200+ for a AEM standalone.

Well actually I spent about 20 miniutes searching for the answer to that question and I couldnt find it anywhere. Well thanks a lot for the feedback anyway it helped a lot. I was under the impression that you have to get a crazy ass ems if you want to run hi horsepower. Obviouslly I was wrong. I didnt know about that, i only knew about aemems and dsm link. Well thanks a bunch!
