I have a serious question about my new build which is my 4th 1G DSM build. Please help. My question is really simple. In the past I just modded the cars and the ECU's using what I know about chipping and reprogramming. This time around I wanted to use the AEM EMS but I read too many horror stories about that ECU bricking when its really pushed (I believe that because I burned up 3 ECU's tuning my 1990 Plymouth Laser RS-T). So I was looking at using ECMLINK this time with a totally refurbished EPROM ECU. I looked at all the tutorials and it looks pretty good. Straight forward about tuning for the injectors and the Speed Density. How many people are running this and how robust is the system? Is it a good choice for this build-out:

Magnus Fully Built 4G63 Engine 13,500

Magnus V3 Intake Manifold 999

AEM Engine Management System 1,500

AEM Wideband O2 Sensor/Gauge 170

AEM Tru-boost Controller/Gauge 280

Walbro 450LPH Fuel Pump 80

FIC 1650cc High-Z Fuel Injectors 840

Forced Performance Exhaust Manifold 580

FP HTA Ball Bearing Green 540HP Turbocharger 1,999

TMZ Stage 4 Transmission Rebuild 4000

Southbend SS/TZ Clutch Kit 440

VRSF Front Mounted Intercooler 300

TOTAL: 25,000 + Cost Of Car

Link is a total package. link has its advantages over AEM and vise versa. The only advantage that AEM has over link is that gives it has the ability to control coil pack dwell time which allows you to take full advantage of the individual coil packs, most of us are still able to make some decent power with link and be satisfied you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the replies. I watched a few tutorials on the ECMLINK website and some youtube videos. It looks pretty user-friendly and does what I'll need it to do. I'm not planning to drag race the car. I just want a reliable DD that can deliver when I feel "The need for speed." There's no speed limit here in the Philippines. YAY!!!

Link is good for almost everyone & I like it. AEM can be called over kill & costs more but I likey better. I DD my AEM. Been doing so since 2003 (series 1) & never have had any problems. The AEM can do things that link will never be able to do though. My favorite is traction control. A lot of things the AEM can do that link can't won't be very particle for DD but as they say "because I can". Personally I would choose AEM. You better learn how EFI systems work & learn how to tune or have very deep pockets.
