whassup guys! I seem to have encountered a strange eletrical problem.

To start off, I'm prepping my car for emissions/state inspection for July later this year. My ABS light has recently turned on while i was driving. I will instantly fail if they find that light on. It is also seems to affect other systems since it came on, namely my radio, temp gauge, and braking. I can also feel the ABS working sometimes at low speeds. The radio randomly turns on/off, temp gauge reads a bit hotter than it should and dips lower at complete stops. The cooling system is working perfectly, too.

I was going through my eletrical system and noticed my 4WD ABS fuse, connectors AND leads are missing. Yet the fusbox clearly reads it is a 10A fuse and there is a spot for it. I found a 98 GSX at a local junkyard and it is also missing those pieces! Im confused....is this like a factory error? i just wanna fix that annoying light. :hmm:

If it helps, i have a 99 GSX w/ LSD, standard transmission, and was built on 8/98 and is completely stock.

1. Explain this:

my 4WD ABS fuse, connectors AND leads are missing

2. Get the code read so you have an idea where to start investigating.

Sorry about the late reply. Work has been keeping me busy with almost no downtime for the DSM. So here it goes...

chrismgst: Yes it is due for emissions in july of this year. No lights will pass the test. Any lights will fail the test. They have gotten pretty aggresive with how people treat their cars here in RI lately. Hopefully they overlook the ABS problem considering its not related to emissions. Im just so used to my car running smoothly and being in great shape.

iceman510: This is interesting to get. The light only comes on when the car is in motion. At a complete stop, it goes on and off at random. It wont be light up if i let it idle, put it in neutral, or put the ignition to "on". Also interesting is something i recently found. The ABS light flashes alot when i turn on the turn signal switch.

ed1320: Nope. Its the one in the engine bay. Look at the diagram for it and it should say "4wd abs". Its completely missing!
