99 2G Non Turbo

Looks bad, drives bad, smells bad. But, I kinda wanted it that way.

Car had cracked exhaust and no intake pipe when I bought it. Bought 4 to 1 exhaust header for $70 and Injen short intake for $30. The filter that came with the intake didn't fit on the pipe that came in the same box, go figure. Another $30 at the part store for a Spectre filter and she's up and running.

Right now just keeping her going and learning the car. Don't know anything about these cars. Never owned a foreign car before. Already learning that I probably should have done some research first. Would have probably been better off with a 4g63, but I think I'll just try and build the best 420a I can and have fun with it. Looking for a second motor to teardown and rebuild on the side and swap out when it's ready.

Sounds like a plan. Going all motor, or boosted with the new 420a build? Or am I asking too far into the future? LOL

I can help you out quite a bit with the all motor thing. I'm on that venture myself. You could probably learn a good portion of what I know by reading and researching, but feel free to ask me anything. I'll be as helpful as I can. :)

Undecided. I don't want a setup that requires more wrench time than drive time. I am leaning towards stage 2 internals, boosted. I kinda figure if i'm going to throw a lot of money at the motor then I might as well get that turbo power, but a simple setup with 10:1 compression might be enough for what i'm looking for the car to do and be a lot less temperamental.

You've already got the headers and the CAI, so that's one step towards all motor. It's awesome if you decide to go boosted but, you'd have to get rid of the intake and the headers.

Yea, had to get them to get it driving. Parts were cracked and missing when i got it. I'll be taking my time so they will serve their purpose for a while. If i go boosted, I can pass em along to the next guy getting started for cheap.
